What is the Amsterdam Salon?

Amsterdam Salon is an initiative of the City of Amsterdam and IN Amsterdam. It is a private networking group through which international professionals living and working in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area can meet and share ideas while actively participating in the city’s cultural scene.

How can I join?

Potential members must apply to join this private networking group. Examples of the information we collect during the application process includes: your age range, the industry within which you are active, your seniority level, your nationality and how long you have lived in the Netherlands.

As the capacity at Amsterdam Salon events is limited, it is necessary to also limit the number of members within the group. However, the application process is not intended to deem any applicant as under-qualified, over-qualified for membership, or to even judge an individual’s success in business. Rather, our intention is to create a vibrant group of ambitious international professionals, all at different stages of their career, in order to connect new people together and inspire discussion.

Now that I am a member, how can I attend events?

Amsterdam Salon events are organised in collaboration with independent cultural partners, meaning event capacities will vary. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis, and tickets are only available to registered members by invitation. Upcoming events will be announced on our website and members will receive their personal invitation and unique ticket code by email. Please keep in mind that a purchased Amsterdam Salon ticket is non-transferable.

Can I bring a guest?

Tickets for Amsterdam Salon events are sold individually. While your colleague, friend or partner is welcome to also apply for Amsterdam Salon membership, please keep in mind that our aim is to help you make new connections.

How can I pay?

Our tickets are sold via Ticketscript, an e-ticketing specialist based in Amsterdam. Tickets can be purchased securely via their online portal and you can choose from a host of major payment platforms (Mastercard, Visa, iDEAL, Paypal, etc).

What have you done in the past?

If you are new to Amsterdam Salon, this is a very fair question. Past events have included performances at the Holland Festival, the Dutch National Opera & Ballet, dinner with Marcel Wanders at the Stedelijk Museum, a live jazz performance at the EYE Filmmuseum, and an event at the Unseen Photo Fair. At each event we work with our cultural partners and programmers to deliver a unique experience to Amsterdam Salon members, such as meeting the stars of the show, a tour behind the scenes, or a talk by a performer or director. In combination with the cosy networking opportunities, we are confident that each event will leave a lasting impression in your memory.
